Upaya Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Kognitif Siswa melalui Model Problem Based Learning pada Materi Bioteknologi Paska Pandemi Covid-19 di kelas X MA As Shiddiqiyah

Abstract

This study aims to improve students' cognitive learning outcomes in biotechnology material in class X MA As Shiddiqiyah with a total of 20 students by applying the problem-based learning model. This research was carried out using classroom action research, which was carried out in 2 cycles. Each cycle has the same stages or actions, namely, from planning actions, to implementing, observing, and reflecting on the results. The data collection technique in this study was carried out using 3 techniques, namely observation techniques, tests, and collecting documents from both last semester's study results from documents and documents in the form of photos during the teaching and learning process. After the data was collected, it was then analyzed by means of quantitative description and presented with classical completeness. The classical completeness will be de criteria for at least 75%. After the action was completed and the results were obtained, it turned out that students' cognitive learning increased between cycle I and cycle II, namely the percentage of 60% to 80%. From the results of the research that has been done, it can be seen that the learning process in the class looks active and the students are enthusiastic in asking questions and many responses from the teacher's explanation as well as during discussions between students, and after carrying out the final results test by working on multiple choice questions given by the teacher, the value obtained is increase. So, it can be concluded that the cognitive learning outcomes of students have increased after the implementation of the problem-based learning model.
